At Imperial Counters, we love outfitting Twin Cities homes with new countertops. We have helped many potential customers through the decision making process. Researching all the selections on your own can get tedious, so we thought we'd give you some insider's tips on how to choose the best countertops for your Twin Cities home.

Choosing a Countertop Material
When you first begin looking for new countertops, the selection may seem overwhelming. There are many different types of materials, all of which have their advantages and disadvantages. Many times it comes down to personal preference, but it's always wise to make an informed decision. Here is some basic information on the countertop materials we offer:
·         Solid Surface products are 100% acrylic and acrylic blend. These types of countertops give you the most flexibility in terms of design and color.
·         Granite is an igneous rock, formed when magma cools under the earth's surface. It is one of the toughest rocks there are. It is made up of mostly quartz, mica and feldspar.
·         Engineered quartz is made up of approximately 93% natural quartz, and 7% pigments and polyester resin. It is very easy to maintain because it's non-porous.
·         Laminate countertops are formed by a process of pressure treating core paper and resins. This is by far the most cost-friendly countertop option.

We can work with you to pick the best option for your home. It may depend on personal style, as well as your home's existing decor. Each of these countertop materials have multiple color options, edge profiles and finishes to choose from. There is sure to be a countertop in our sock for you!
